Story:
Tees Maar Khan (Aadi Saikumar) and Vasudha (Poorna) leave their abusive homes and start anew. Vasudha, the elder, cares for Tees Maar Khan, who regards her as his mother. Vasudha later marries Chakri (Sunil). Meanwhile, Tees Maar Khan faces off against mafia don Jeeja (Anoop Singh Thakur), resulting in Vasudha’s tragic death. Driven by revenge, Tees Maar Khan takes on the criminals to avenge his mother.
Plus Points:
The film’s last 40 minutes are particularly engaging, featuring unexpected and impactful twists that elevate the viewing experience. Aadi Saikumar delivers a solid performance, showcasing his versatility across the different shades of his character, especially in the emotional and action sequences. The initial scenes establishing the bond between Aadi and Poorna are well-executed, despite their conventional nature. The action sequences are stylishly choreographed, and the supporting cast, including Sunil, Poorna, and Srikanth Iyengar, contribute effectively to the film.
Minus Points:
The first half of the film suffers from poor execution. The romantic subplot between the leads is underdeveloped and clichéd, with Paayal Rajput’s role being limited mainly to song sequences. The second half starts off slowly, and an unnecessary item song disrupts the narrative flow. Villains Anoop Singh Thakur and Kabir Singh lack depth and significance, and certain scenes feel derivative of other films. Additionally, the subplot involving Jeeja’s abductions is inadequately explored, missing an opportunity for deeper impact.
Technical Aspects:
Sai Kartheek’s background score complements the film’s commercial vibe, though Baal Reddy’s cinematography falls short with outdated time-lapse shots. Manikanth’s editing is competent, and the production values are satisfactory. Director Kalyanji Gogana manages to extract strong performances and stage effective twists but struggles with the film’s first half and the lead pair’s storyline.
Verdict:
Overall, Tees Maar Khan is a passable film, buoyed by its climactic twists and strong performances by Aadi Saikumar. However, the film is hampered by a lackluster first half, routine romance, and unnecessary songs. It’s worth a watch if approached with modest expectations.
