Atharva Movie 2023

Atharva Movie 2023: “Atharva,” featuring Karthik Raju and Simran Choudhary, has made its debut on the big screen today. Let’s delve into the film’s narrative to explore its strengths and weaknesses.

Synopsis:

Deva Atharva Karna (played by Karthik Raju) aspires to become a police officer, but his asthma poses a hindrance. Advised by someone, Atharva discovers a promising future in the Clues Team. With his analytical prowess, he tackles various cases. Amidst this, he encounters his college crush, Nithya (Simran), at a crime scene, leading to a gradual connection between them. The story takes a dark turn when a Tollywood actress, Joshni Huparikar (Ayraa Jain), is found dead alongside her boyfriend, Siva. The film revolves around unraveling this murder mystery.

Highlights:

Atharva distinguishes itself by spotlighting the crucial role of the Clues Team in crime resolution. The first hour is gripping as the protagonist successfully solves several cases. Karthik Raju delivers a commendable performance, supported by a fine portrayal by Simran Choudhary and a neat job by Ayraa Jain. The initial pacing of the film is well-maintained, and the murder plot of Joshni adds a fresh layer to the narrative.

Drawbacks:

While the first half captivates, the second half encounters issues. The rapid resolution of conflicts diminishes the interest factor. The film, initially subtle in its subject matter, becomes overly dramatic and loud, incorporating unnecessary heroism elements. Weak dialogues, especially a lengthy monologue in the first half, feel out of place. Unimpressive songs and stock footage used for crucial scenes contribute to the film’s downfall. The lack of promising cliffhangers for a sequel hampers the overall impact.

Technical Analysis:

Sricharan Pakala’s music is decent, but poor lyrics diminish the songs’ appeal. Charan Madhavaneni’s cinematography is visually appealing, and the editing team does a commendable job. The director, Mahesh Reddy, struggles to maintain a compelling narrative in the second half, with the love track and songs proving to be burdensome. The character of Kabir Duhan Singh is not adequately established.

Verdict:

In summary, “Atharva” emerges as a partially realized suspense thriller, emphasizing the significance of the clues department. Despite engaging moments in the first half, the film falters in the latter part, succumbing to excessive heroism, weak songs, and a lackluster second half.”
